Jessica Russell

Jessica Russell is the creator and blogger behind Itty Bitty Farmhouse. She is from a small town in North Carolina, where she moved back to follow her dreams of starting a business and owning a farmhouse.

She started her Instagram two years ago and organically gained followers by sharing her blog, Pinterest, and love for simple DIY projects. Her designs are cozy, layered, and farmhouse. She is drawing inspiration from her deep southern roots.

Jessica has been published in Farmhouse Chic Design (2019) written by Kristen Wiltgen and featured in American Farmhouse Style magazine. She has a strong passion for being a social media coach and content creator.

Q&A with Jessica Russell

What interests you most about taking on DIY projects?
The most interesting thing would be loving the end results and knowing that you created that project with a creative vision.

What creative areas do you prefer to focus on?
I love to style any vintage pieces in spaces throughout my home. Along with creating DIY projects along the way to make my house a home!

What do you consider to be your greatest business accomplishment thus far?
My greatest business accomplishment is to have my blog up and running. Also knowing that it is what I am passionate about and others share that interest in my content!

What has been your most difficult project that you’ve tackled?
I have to say the more difficult project so far was my kitchen. This was because there was so many odd size pieces that I had to make work.

Do you have a brand partner that you consider to be your favorite?
I love all the brands I work with! I have to say though my most creative and fun ones are The Home Depot, Hoover, and Boutique Rugs.

Which platform helps you to reach your audience the most, and how do you keep them engaged?
I believe using Instagram and Pinterest is my biggest platforms. These platforms are always receiving new content daily and I feel that my audience loves seeing the new feed.

Based upon your personal experience, what’s one piece of advice that you’d give to blogger/influencers?

What’s one fun fact about you that our readers would be surprised to know?
I am still a hairstylist at two days a week because, I feel that is it another way to create art on a blank canvas.

What do you like most about HAVEN Conference?
I love the relationships and connections that you build at HAVEN! HAVEN was an eye-opening experience for me during my first conference and it gave me the tools to be successful.

What do you want your audience to take away from your presentation at the Heart of HAVEN virtual conference?
I want the audience to grow their audience in an organic way and build the connections with them on a personal and business level.
